Paul is exhorting the church and the disciples to press on in Christ Jesus, to reach forward into the fulness of God. God places in front of us a goal that we are to press forward and upward toward. Paul desires that we become mature, like minded and to walk together in the same rule and mind, that Christ Himself live and now asks us to follow.
