We as disciples must always remember that there will be times that we fail God and one another, but God is a God who restores (Psalm 23:3). Failure is not the end; we should turn failure into a teaching and maturing experience leading to more growth in Christ Jesus. When we call upon His name and confess our faults (shortcomings), He puts us back on our feet and exhorts us to keep moving forward in faith with Him.
It is important that all believers in Christ gather together as a body of servants to help and encourage one another. God is in the ministry of calling people together – why? So that we can minister to each other with the fruit & gifts of the Spirit. God is gathering a nation, gathering a harvest and will soon gather His Church. When Christ is lifted up, He will draw or gather all unto Himself (John 12:32; draw or gather). Gathering together is where Jesus presence, power and anointing is.
The hand can represent power, support, submission, protection, tenderness and correction. We can be as disciples of Christ, channels of anointing that can flow from our life out through one’s hands to another – but it requires one heart to be cleaned and filled with the power of the Holy Spirit before your hands can become a channel of blessing to others. Christ is the anointed One who sent the Holy Spirit to anoint us, so we can anoint others with God’s anointing. #38
With Christ all things are possible, but our prayers must line up to the will of the Father in heaven. Christ is our High Priest and intercedes on behalf of us. Disciples’ faith journey is built on the foundation of hope, it is our anchor. The disciple always needs to keep things in balance to His will – when one knows God’s will, then in Christ Jesus nothing is impossible. Empowerment comes and impossibilities become possible because of the infilling of the Holy Spirit.
The discipleship life is one of a journey for the sake of the Gospel. We are travelling and moving forward on behalf of our King and His Kingdom, fulfilling His plan and will for our life. We are just passing through this world, but while here we represent Him, but our true home is heaven, this is our finally journey stopping point. The disciples’ journey does not end but it does transition from an earthly journey to a heaven journey that last for all eternity with our Lord Jesus Christ.
When a disciple is filled with the Spirit, the "Fruit of the Spirit" will be evident and he will live out kindness to others. Kindness needs to be shown to all peoples, it has the ability to soften people’s hearts – it is going the second mile. Plus, it is part of the life blood of the Gospel. Man does not walk naturally in a spirit of kindness, it must be infused into the disciple’s life by the filling of the Holy Spirit.
